Our organic farm, on the eastern slopes of Mt Franklin, is naturally blessed with pure water and rich red, volcanic soil. We drip irrigate the gardens and fruit trees using only passive solar power and have no cool rooms or machine processing to sort and store food. So on market days, we are up digging and picking very, very early.
Founder, Florian Hofinger ...was imported over 20 years ago to Australia as a fine food chef and Florian knows his way around quality food. He is passionate about flavour and texture; about food that lifts the spirits that will feed every level of one’s need to be nourished. He will tell you, “You are what you eat”
… and his kitchen garden
With 30 acres of gently sloping land on the easterly lee of Mt Franklin, Florian has created 2 acres of organic market garden and around it, reintroduced 1000 native trees, shrubs and grasses. The wildlife abound and the land, once used by the Dja Dja Wurrung people as a ceremonial site, and is now returning to a natural, flourishing bio-diversity, after being cleared in the 1930’s. The farm is focused on being a sustainable, water efficient, carbon neutral, passive solar, chemical free production.
Farmers’ Market
On the first Saturday of every month, you’ll find us at the local growers market in Daylesford, some Castlemaine markets and also Trentham on the 3rd Saturday with a full range of produce.
Seedlings
We raise our own seeds and can offer heirloom and local vegetable seedlings to gardeners.
A wide range of berry plants grown from cuttings are also usually available. Call ahead or look for us at the farmers’ markets, and bring along your old empty plant pots for recycle.
Family Food Boxes
A hearty mix of everything in season – vegetables, fruit and herbs. To be picked up in Daylesford on Wednesdays between January and July. The cost of a box is $30 COD and it should feed two good eaters for the week. Please telephone or email to place your order by Monday night.
Restaurant Delivery
With 30 years experience as a chef, Florian has a keen knowledge of kitchen needs and trends. He delivers to the main eateries of Daylesford on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Orders by phone or email.
