The original purpose of a Farmers Market was to re-connect the community to people who produce their food for their mutual benefit and enjoyment. Daylesford Farmers Market showcases great local produce straight from the farmgates and cellar doors for you to come to try and buy.
As the markets have grown in number and strength over the past 7 years RFM is taking the next step to assist shoppers to have a better understanding and knowledge of the food they eat. We are introducing information boards on each stall which will tell patrons, where the food is produced, when it is picked, what’s in it, whether it’s organic or not and the food miles it has travelled to the market from and any other information that helps people have a greater connection to their food.
This next step will inform people not only where the food comes from but what is in their food and who produces it.
Daylesford Farmers Market is working towards becoming VFMA Accredited. So you can be sure you are buying from an authentic farmers market.
