Duck Puddle Farm provides fresh, seasonal produce to our local region. Currently we sell at the Daylesford, Sunbury, Riddell’s Creek and Lancefield Farmers’ Markets from late spring, through summer to late autumn. We also offer farmgate sales.
We specialise in old-fashioned or heirloom vegetables - the varieties bred for taste rather than transport - including tomatoes such as Tigarella, Black Russian and Green Zebra. Recently we have added gourmet potato varieties such as Cranberry, Sapphire, Dutch Cream and Royal Blue.
Fruit is also on the menu with Silvanberries, Blackberries, Blueberries and a small selection of heritage apples and stone fruit.
What we don’t sell is made into preserves to sell both at markets and in the off-season months.
Although we are not Certified Organic we rarely use pesticides and when we do we use non-systemic ones such as Derris, Neem Oil and Dipel. We promote plant health by improving the soil with manures, mulches and green manure crops.
