On market days, visitors to this little gem of a town can browse, taste and buy to their heart's content among a wide range of stalls selling a wide variety of fresh and value-added produce; including poultry, small livestock, herbs, regional wines and other farm-based products.

Depending on seasonal availability of their products, the DMP group is represented at the market by the following:

Organic Sunrise Foods (Korweinguboora)
Fernleigh Farms Rare Breeds Meats & Organic Produce (Bullarto)
Kyneton Olive Oil (Barfold)
Duck Pudl Farm (South Kyneton)
Piper Street Food Co. (Kyneton)
Red Beard Historic Bakery (Trentham)
Rowanston on the Track Wines (Glenhope)
Trewhella Farm (Musk)

The market has enjoyed a lot of success over the last eight years & many producers who attend the market laud it as their best local market for trade. This is due to its popularity with Macedon Ranges & Mitchell Shire residents who love to come & shop there once a month under the canopy of heritage listed trees, meeting friends & enjoying the great relaxed atmosphere. Dogs are welcome on a leash & the variety of breeds that turn up every month would rival the variety of stalls on offer!

Meggs Hannes & Vivien Philpotts established the market in March 2003, with the backing of the Lancefield Neighbourhood House.

Since its inception, the market has increased to 45-50 stalls per month. The management of the market favours inclusiveness in offering spaces to producers, so you are sure to find a great diversity of local product for sale at the market.

May 2011 market saw the launch of the expanded market site, including speakers stage, hot chai & tasty foods complete with seating & free face-painting. The market will now feature monthly presentations from producers, local identities & chefs (when we get our kitchen up & running). For information on who will be appearing each month, you can find news in the Midland Express, Guardian & Kilmore Free Press. "Like" us on Facebook for all market news.

Management consists of a small sub-committee of the Lancefield Neighbourhood House & a coordinator who meet monthly at the Neighbourhood House.

New stallholder applications are always welcome. However, it is important to bear in mind that the market is accredited with the Victorian Farmers’ Markets Association & gives preference to producers who are local AND accredited (or eligible for accreditation) with the VFMA. For more information on this process please have a look at the VFMA website. http://www.vicfarmersmarkets.org.au/content/vfma-accreditation
