Aussie Truffle Dogs is Australia's first registered Truffle Dog Breeding and Training Business. Aussie Truffle Dogs was formed to provide purebred registered working dogs to fill the harvesting needs of the ruffle industry.
Welsh Springer Spaniels and Field Spaniels have been selected for their track record of being level headed, responsive, willingness to work and success in scent discrimination and tracking.
Aussie Truffle Dogs has established a 900 tree and 4 varieties of Truffiere containing both Perigord Black Truffles (Tuber Melanosporum) and Burgundy or Summer Truffles (Tuber Aestivum).Tuber Magnatum - Italian white truffle which has not, as yet been successfully cultivated and Bianchetto -Tuber Borkii a small white Italian truffle harvested in autumn.
We are more than happy to conduct tours around the truffiere and put you in touch with the experts should you wish to plant your own trees. Our ultimate goal is to have you visit, work the dogs, collect your dinner and have some renown local Chefs put together a gourmet meal with other local produce and fine wines from the Daylesford Macedon Region.
